NYC Department of the Aging Works with Prosper on timely social isolation PSA
The New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA) and called on Prosper Digital TV to help produce a timely public service announcement (PSA) to bring awareness to the overlooked crisis of older New Yorkers faced with social isolation from COVID-19.
The PSA was voiced by none other than Hamilton writer/producer and Broadway star, Lin Manuel Miranda. In the radio spot, Miranda appeals to New Yorkers to volunteer and check on older adults by taking time to make a ten-minute call which can make a significant difference.
The DFTA Social Isolation Program encourages New Yorkers to connect to isolated adults, to build friendships, and to show them that they are not alone. The PSA has been highly effective in signing up new volunteers and has been a successful campaign for the city.
